How to Buy $AUT

For complete beginners

Never bought crypto before? No worries. Expect about 15 minutes and a minimum investment of โ‚ฌ10.

โš ๏ธ Important before you start

Wallet app screens (MetaMask, Rainbow, etc.) change often. A button we mention below might be in a different place, or have a different name.

Your trick: take a screenshot of your screen, paste it into an AI chatbot and ask: "I'm trying to buy $AUT on Polygon. How do I continue from here?" The AI sees what you see and helps you forward, even if the app has changed since this guide was written.

Step 1

Install a wallet (your digital pocket)

A wallet is an app on your phone where crypto is stored. We recommend Rainbow (easiest for beginners) or MetaMask (more well-known).

  • Download the app from the App Store or Play Store
  • Open it and tap "Create new wallet"
  • You'll see 12 random words. Write them down on paper. Keep that paper safe.
  • These words are your password โ€” if lost, your money is gone and nobody (not even us) can help you.
Never type these words into an email, chat, or website โ€” only in your wallet app itself.
Step 2

Put money into your wallet

  • Open your wallet, tap the "Buy" button
  • Choose the network: Polygon (very important โ€” not Ethereum, not Bitcoin)
  • Buy ~โ‚ฌ15 worth of USDC (a stable digital euro/dollar)
  • Pay with credit card via MoonPay or similar. Note: ~5% fee on this step.
Tip: also buy โ‚ฌ2 worth of POL. POL is the "gas" for every transaction on Polygon. Without POL you can't swap.
Step 3

Swap USDC for $AUT on QuickSwap

  • On your phone, go to quickswap.exchange
  • Tap "Connect Wallet" โ†’ choose your wallet โ†’ confirm in the wallet app
  • Top field: choose USDC, type for example 10
  • Bottom field: paste the $AUT contract address (see below)
  • QuickSwap shows: for 10 USDC you'll get ~1,000 $AUT (price ~$0.01 each)
  • Tap "Swap" โ†’ confirm in wallet โ†’ wait 5 seconds โ†’ done
Step 4

See your $AUT in your wallet

Your wallet doesn't know $AUT automatically. You have to add it manually.

In MetaMask:

  • Go to the "Tokens" tab
  • Scroll all the way down, tap "Import tokens"
  • You'll see two tabs on top: "Search" and "Custom token"
  • Choose "Custom token" โ€” $AUT isn't in the default list yet
  • Paste the contract address. The Symbol (AUTEST) and Decimals (18) fields auto-fill
  • Tap "Next" โ†’ "Import" โ†’ done, your balance shows now

In Rainbow:

  • Rainbow auto-detects most tokens once you have a balance
  • Don't see $AUT after the swap? Go to wallet settings โ†’ "Pinned tokens" โ†’ paste the contract address

Frequently asked questions

My swap fails.
In QuickSwap go to settings (gear icon) and set Slippage tolerance to 2-3%. Thin liquidity pool โ€” this fixes it for small buys.
I don't see my $AUT in my wallet.
That's normal. You have to add it manually via Step 4.
Is this safe?
Your wallet is as safe as you keep it. Nobody else (not even autestme.com) has access. Your 12 words are everything โ€” whoever has them has your money. Keep them offline, on paper, hidden.
Why Polygon and not Ethereum?
Polygon has transaction fees of a few cents. On Ethereum a single swap would sometimes cost โ‚ฌ20-50 in fees.
Can I use a bank transfer?
Not directly. Easiest is the credit-card option in your wallet. Already have crypto on an exchange (Bitvavo, Coinbase)? Send USDC or POL to your wallet on the Polygon network.
